Emotions are a part of the game

It’s hard not to cry after a game like that. Imagine what the players feel like. I’ve had to walk off my emotions for the last twenty minutes (I walked past the Bobcats’ locker room and just being two feet from the door made me feel as if I was trespassing – covering the game in an NBA arena has been a blast). I won’t bring myself to cry, but I’d be surprised if there aren’t some waterworks in the Cougars locker room.

The College of Charleston men’s basketball team continued its four-game winning streak on Wednesday night as they beat the Charleston Southern Buccaneers 87-74 in front of 3,067 at the Carolina First Arena. With the win, Charleston improved to 5-3 overall and CSU fell to 4-5.

Charleston routs Davidson 67-55

The College of Charleston men’s basketball team did not need its famous Curry-blocker, Antwaine Wiggins, as they routed Southern Conference rival Davidson 67-55 at home on Saturday.In fact, the team did not even need a shooting performance by top shooters Andrew Goudelock and Tony White, Jr.Instead, it was Jeremy Simmons who stepped up yet again and earned his second consecutive double-double. Simmons scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Cougars improved to 3-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

Men's basketball takes down Winthrop in home opener

"It's great to get a win," coach Bobby Cremins said of the College of Charleston Cougars' performance Tuesday night. The men's basketball team scored 12 points in the final three minutes and held the Winthrop Eagles scoreless as Charleston won 69-57 in the first home game of the season.
