Most of the coverage of this law has focused on the politics of the passing; some have dealt with real world impacts; almost none have focused on the specific impacts to college students.

Ross Kressel and J.K. Lawler won their prospective races in the Student Government Association run-off election held Tuesday.

Kressel, the current student body secretary, is Vice-President-Elect after defeating Senator Cory Maran. Kressel will take over for Isaiah Nelson, the now President-Elect.

Lawler, a senator, is Treasurer-Elect. He defeated Senator Nicole Trevisan. Elliot Dickerson, who was briefly President-Elect, is the current SGA treasurer.

Isaiah Nelson has been disqualified from the Student Government Association's presidential election after exceeding the $400 campaign expenditure limit. Mr. Nelson won 70 percent of the vote, handily beating Elliot Dickerson.

It was almost too good to be true. The College of Charleston women’s team clawed its way out of an 11-point first half deficit to take a 3-point lead with four minutes to play in the game against Georgia Southern in the quarterfinals of the Southern Conference Tournament.

 The College of Charleston's Bookstore at 160 Calhoun St. will be closed beginning tomorrow as Barnes & Noble moves into the space. Barnes & Noble College Booksellers was awarded the management contract for the space late last year.

ESPN named Andrew Goudelock, the Junior guard, 'Player of the Week' on Monday. Goudelock was recognized for one of the "biggest shots of the season so far": his 28 foot 3-pointer during the CofC v. North Carolina game on Jan. 4 to send the game into overtime. The game was deemed an "Instant Classic" by ESPN after the Cougars went on to stun the Tar Heels in overtime 82-79.

The College of Charleston men’s basketball team continued its four-game winning streak on Wednesday night as they beat the Charleston Southern Buccaneers 87-74 in front of 3,067 at the Carolina First Arena. With the win, Charleston improved to 5-3 overall and CSU fell to 4-5.

On the road at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C., the Cougars defeated the UNC Greensboro Spartans in a hard-fought 67-64 win Monday night. The Cougars remain undefeated after three games in the Southern Conference and move to 4-3 overall.
