Jake Keim is a English and German major with a concentration in creative writing at the College of Charleston. Originally from Spartanburg, SC, he hopes to move out of South Carolina and earn a living through writing. His work is heavily inspired by weird, speculative fiction. He has worked with Miscellany since his freshman year.
Samantha (Sammy) Jones is currently a senior at the College of Charleston, pursuing a degree in English. She has lived in the Charleston area since she was a kid and considers it her hometown. In between breaking up fights between her two cats, working at a local candy store, going to school, and working as Managing Editor for Miscellany she tries to find time to read. She loves poetry, classic literature, comic books, and Studio Ghibli movies. After college she hopes to continue working as an editor.
This cool cat in his natural habitat is named Timothy Housand. Raised in Greenwood and then Clemson, South Carolina, Tim is a transplant to the south who has since accepted it as his home. Tim is a senior at the College double majoring in Political science and German. He writes poetry and essays mostly, although sometimes a little prose comes out on accident. His hobbies include annoying his girlfriend, lounging, stretching, not exercising, being cool, reading, Hulu, shopping for polo shirts, sending pictures of his dog to strangers, cooking, and laughing
Riley is a German major and a Linguistics minor. She loves Matt Damon movies, One Direction and Air Playing her dog’s Instagram at inappropriate times (follow him @ollie_the_pit_bull). After graduating from CofC, she hopes to get a PHD in linguistics and become Amy Adams in “Arrival” when the aliens land.
Abrie Richison is double majoring in English and International Studies. She is from Oklahoma City, and is a Co-President of the revised Literati Club on campus.
Ty Shelton is a freshman double majoring in International Studies and Political Science at the College. Originally from Louisville, KY, (which makes her half yankee) she enjoys writing half completed poems, reading novels usually set during the Civil War, making playlists for her radio show, collecting postcards, playing electric guitar, learning about the south, and looking through archived websites from the 90s!
Paris is a Sociology major with a Studio Art minor with the (possibly unattainable) dream of becoming an art therapist and working in nursing homes. Paris likes to question authority, dismantle the patriarchy, advance the gay agenda, and sometimes makes cool art. From Fort Wayne, Indiana, Charleston has been quite the culture shock, but has also been a fun learning experience.
Lilith Yurkin is a sophomore at the College of Charleston. She is originally from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She is majoring in English with a concentration in Fiction and two minors in Writing Rhetoric and Publication and French.
Claire Zlotnicki is from Florence, and is majoring in Women’s and Gender Studies and Psychology.
