Public Safety incident reports March 17 - March 23

Bike theft
A student told Public Safety her unregistered red bicycle was stolen from the Lightsey Center rack. The girl locked the bike to the rack with a cable lock March 10, and it was gone when she returned March 23, according to the police report. The bike has a water bottle holder, a bell and a lock holder.
Golf cart theft
An admissions employee checked out a golf cart March 18 for an event March 20, according to the police report. The cart was locked to a bench in the Craig Café courtyard while it was not in use. The employee told police the cart was there March 19 and gone March 22.
Alcohol
Public Safety responded to McConnell Residence Hall in reference to a person urinating in an elevator March 21. The officers and Residence Hall Director found him in a room along with 10 unopened beer cans and several empty ones.
Drugs, Alcohol
A public Safety officer says he observed a male, who was yelling and running down the second floor hallway of McAlister Residence Hall, hit his head on the window of a room. According to the police report, someone opened the door and the male ran inside. The officer says two of the room’s occupants put their drinks down when he entered the room. After an administrative search, Public Safety confiscated a blue and purple pipe, a leafy green substance, one bottle of Bailey’s Caramel Irish Cream liquor, three Heineken bottles and two Guinness beer cans.
Alcohol
Public Safety arrested a McAlister resident for possessing alcohol underage after an officer found him urinating off the fourth floor balcony of the residence hall into the central quad, according to the police report. Police say the confiscated a silver flask containing alcohol from the resident’s pocket.
Suspicious water gun activity
Several George Street Apartments residents were seen yelling obscenities and spraying pedestrians on George Street with a water gun from the apartment above CVS March 19, according to the police report. The residents were gone when Public Safety and the resident assistant entered the room, but Public Safety confiscated a blue, green orange and black Super Soaker from next to the window facing George Street.
Alcohol
The Rutledge Rivers Residence Hall Director found liquor in a room during a fire, life and safety search March 18, according to the police report. Public Safety says they confiscated a 750 mL bottle of 99 Bananas, a 750 mL bottle or Malibu rum and six 11.2 oz. bottles of Smirnoff Ice.
Alcohol
Public Safety says they confiscated 14 beers from a historic house March 17.
Drugs
A McAlister resident told Public Safety that her roommate had drugs in their room March 17. The Resident Hall Director found a little bit of a green leafy substance and a clear, orange and white pipe, according to the police report.
Drunkenness
A Berry resident fell in the lobby around 11 p.m. March 17, according to the police report. Police say the girl was incoherent and vomiting while C of C EMS examined her. Charleston County EMS brought the girl to Roper Hospital.
