Assault
A female student told Public Safety that her boyfriend assaulted her after the two had been out drinking Feb. 6. The couple began arguing at the male’s fraternity brother’s house and continued on their way back to the male’s house, according to the police report. The girl told police that her boyfriend pushed her, and she flipped over his bed and fell. He pushed her out the door while she struggled to get her laptop, which he had borrowed, according to the report.
Harassment
A girl told Public Safety that her former boyfriend had not stopped calling her since the relationship ended. She told police the boy had called her 10 times and sent her three text messages since she asked him to stop contacting her.
Larceny
A McConnell Hall resident told Public Safety that a load of her laundry went missing from the fourth floor laundry room Feb. 8. She put loads of laundry in two machines around 4:30 p.m. When she returned around 11 p.m. she says one load was on top of another machine but the second load was gone, according to the police report. Police say the clothes are estimated to be worth $400.
Alcohol
Two Public Safety officers observed a student standing across the street from Public Safety Headquarters with two unopened cans of Natural Light beer in his jacket pockets just after 10 p.m. Feb. 5. The student told police that he was underage. Police say they explained the charges that he could face, including the minor in possession of beer statute, and dismissed him to his residence hall with a warning.
Alcohol
Public Safety confiscated one can of Busch Light beer and one can of Miller Light beer from a Craig Residence Hall room just before 1 a.m. Feb. 6.
Alcohol/Drug Equipment
Public Safety was working on getting students out of a stuck elevator on the second floor of McAlister Residence Hall when an officer noticed someone open a nearby door holding a beer can Feb. 5, according to the police report. Police say they contacted a Residence Hall Director and searched the room. During the search, one resident got dizzy and began vomiting, according to the report. Police say Charleston County EMS brought the student to MUSC. Police say they confiscated one yellow and blue pipe, a 750 ml bottle of Andre champagne, a half-empty bottle of Burnett’s vodka, a half-empty bottle of Dekuyper Peach Tree and eight cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer.
Bicycle Theft
A student told Public Safety that a dark blue SIXTHREEZERO Classic bike, worth $130, was stolen from the Warren Place bicycle cage. The student told police that the bike was locked to the rack with a cable lock Jan. 10 and was gone Feb. 3.
Drugs
Public Safety says they confiscated a medicine bottle containing a leafy green substance, two glass bongs, four pipes and a grinder with leaves from a McAlister Residence Hall room Feb. 2. The residents will meet with Judicial Services.
