Hurricane Irma Update

The College sent out this update on Wednesday morning:

“In partnership with the City of Charleston and Charleston County emergency preparedness teams, College of Charleston officials are closely monitoring the track of Hurricane Irma in order to determine any changes to the College’s class/work schedule.

Based on the information at hand, the College remains on its normal business schedule at this time.”

Another email will be sent out this afternoon. Students are advised to update their Emergency Evacuation Plan on MyCharleston – it is found under the Banner Self Service section of the Academic Services tab. Other things you can do to prepare:

  • Stay calm.
  • Make sure your car has a full tank of gas.
  • Make sure your phone is fully charged.
  • If you live off campus, contact your landlord and find out if you are required to prepare the property in anyway.
  • Have some bottled water and nonperishable food on hand.
