For the entire month of April, City Bistro will make use of their take out window and offer late night meals on Friday and Saturday nights from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Students can now order pizza, wings, or enjoy both with a single meal swipe.
Freshman Senator Sean Stivaletta envisioned and implemented the project. When he first arrived at CofC and became a part of SGA, he was told to “pick an initiative, something that he wanted to see changed on campus,” said Stivaletta. A Boston native, he knew about the late night meals offered at Boston College, and thought it was worth considering. He broached the idea with others in SGA, but nobody “could see it happening.”
However after talking with Jan Brewton of Dining Services, Stivaletta said she was “very receptive,” and together they worked out the details. The month of April is a trial period for the late meal option. If it is well used and accepted by the student body, Dining Services will consider adding the fourth option permanently.
Currently pizza and wings are served, but if the change stays, next semester Stivaletta hopes to add other options such as chips and gilled cheeses, and “change it up” with different options each week.
According to Stivaletta, “It’s perfect for students coming back late at night, hungry, and heading to their dorms… A meal swipe is the best option.”
