Cougars suffer second loss in a row against Elon

The men’s soccer team saw a similar scenario play out at Patriots Point on Tuesday night when they lost 1-0 against Elon just days after losing to UNC Greensboro.

The first and only goal was made during the 23rd minute of the first half when Elon’s Matt Wescoe was able to head the ball into the goal from six yards away from a corner kick.

Though the Cougars led against Elon in shots at goal, corner kicks, and had a 13-6 advantage in attempted shots, they were still unable to walk away with a win and faced their second conference game loss in a row.

Goalkeeper Kees Heemskerk (Zaandam, Holland) had three saves for the night and was named College of Charleston’s Student-Athlete of the week.

The men’s team will next face Davidson on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. as they travel to Davidson, N.C.
