Although the course was a challenge for many of the races, it was men’s top finisher Ross Ochs who embraced the challenge.
“I felt really good. It was really muddy and sandy but it felt good the whole way, kept moving up,” said Ochs.
When asked how the this raced compared to the College of Charleston Invitational, Ochs said, “I’d say so, course wise no but meet wise, yeah, it felt a lot better. It was just a tougher course all the way round but that in itself is beneficial to me because the tougher it is, you know the tougher you have to be. “
Head Coach Amy Seago also was optimistic about this race as well as the progress the men have made in practice.
“We had a couple guys that ended up dropping out of the race that they were in position early were we could have beat Winthrop so we looked pretty good, work outs have been going real well on the men’s side and we really feel like we are a lot farther ahead than we were this time last year, so that’s great,” said Seago
