The CofC Men’s Golf team spent this past weekend participating in the Mason Rudolph Invitational at the Legends Club of Tennessee in Franklin, TN. The Cougars played against 13 teams across the country including: Middle Tennessee State, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Georgia Southern, Memphis, Davidson College, Akron, Western Carolina, Georgia State, Belmont, and Akron
The Cougars placed 7th out of the 14 teams in the tournament, which was played Friday through Sunday. The Cougars had a total score of 859(+7) for the tournament. Middle Tennessee State took first place with 841(-8).
Senior Henry Smart led the Cougars with a score or 213 and tied for 14th place individually for the tournament. Smart finished with at even-par. Junior John Duke Hudson and junior Neil Gowan were only points away from Smart with Hudson having a score of 214 and Gowan at 216. Sophomore Alex Elis had a score of 222 and senior Seth Stuart had 225.
Overall the tournament was successful for the Cougars and the team is planning to continue to working hard for the next tournament on the weekend of Oct. 7th in Macon, GA. The Brickyard Collegiate will be played throughout the weekend, Friday Oct. 7th through Sunday Oct. 9th, starting at 8 am.
